Faith Journeys
As followers of Christ, we are called to take a personal faith journey that lasts until we draw our final breath.
The staff at St. Pius X is committed to helping each individual on that journey, whether you were born into the Catholic faith or join somewhere along the way.
First Holy Communion Journey
This journey leads to the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
- Communicants are children in 2nd or 3rd grade on the First Holy Communion journey. Communicants follow a two-year path that includes one year of catechesis followed by another year of catechesis and additional sacramental preparation. To begin this journey, contact Arlene Hausher at [email protected].
- Candidates are adolescents in 4th through 12th grade who have already been baptized and seek the First Holy Communion journey. Candidates follow a two-year path that includes one year of catechesis followed by another year of catechesis and additional sacramental preparation. To begin this journey, contact Arlene Hausher at [email protected] .
Confirmation Journey:
This journey leads to the sacrament of Confirmation.
- In the Diocese of Tulsa, a confirmand is a high school student, often a junior or senior, on the Confirmation journey. To begin this journey, contact Arlene Hausher at [email protected].
- If you are over the age of 18 and have yet to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, you will join the Easter Vigil Journey in most cases. Please contact Deacon Craig Gunter for more information at [email protected].
Easter Vigil or Catechumenate Journey
This journey leads to the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion and Confirmation. These are the sacraments of initiation to become a Catholic. Catechumens on this journey begin catechesis in August, prepare through the season of Lent and receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil.
- If you’re over the age of 18 and unbaptized, you’ll journey through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults or OCIA. To begin this journey, contact Deacon Craig Gunter at [email protected].
- If you’re between the ages of 7 and 18 and unbaptized, you’ll journey through the Order of Christian Initiation of Children or OCIC. To begin this journey, contact Arlene Hausher at [email protected].
- If you’re under the age of 7 and unbaptized, you’ll proceed on the Baptismal journey just as an infant would. Contact Fr. Grant at [email protected], or the parish office at 918-622-4488 for more information.
