OCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) is starting Tuesday October 4th, from 6:30pm-8:30pm in Weigant Room of the Activity Center. Fr. Josh, Deacon Gunter and others will lead our RCIA journey. In our sessions, we will travel from the Upper Room where Jesus started the first Christian Community, to the Roman Catholic Church today. We will survey the pillars of Catholic belief and faith, study Sacred Scripture, review over 2,000 years of Church history and discuss today’s social issues and spiritual movements.

For those interested in learning more about the Catholic Church, this series will be a way of learning about the fundamentals of Catholic Faith and life, with the opportunity for Baptism or entering into Full Communion with the Catholic Church.

For Catholics, this series will be an excellent way for adult Catholics (18 years old and older) to prepare for and receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. For adult Catholics who have been away from the Church, this is also an awesome way to return and rejoin the Church.

During the RCIA journey, participants will attend weekly sessions to instruct them in the Catholic faith. They will also participate in liturgical rites (public ceremonies) that mark their journey and progress. These rites also bestow upon them God’s grace.
