WHO: Jimmy Houston is a fishing legend beginning his 41st year as host of the nationally televised fishing program “Jimmy Houston Outdoors.” Raised in Moore, Oklahoma, Houston holds dozens of fishing titles and sports Hall of Fame honors. He is also the author of five books including Catch of The Day, a daily devotional that explains how faith and fishing work interchangeably in his life.
WHAT: A free “Evening with Jimmy Houston” featuring a talk from Houston on “prioritizing faith in our busy lives.” According to Houston, “I’m not a preacher. I’m a fisherman, and so I just share what God’s doing in my life at this particular time.” Beloved by his fans for his wit and wisdom as much as his fishing expertise, Houston is known for mixing his testimony with fishing stories at appearances in churches throughout the country. However, his appearance at St. Pius X will be the first one in Tulsa this year.
The evening will also include dinner options from local food trucks: Brownie’s Hamburgers, Mangiamo Italian and Chinta’s Tacos & Catering. A praise concert featuring Kyrie Singers & Orchestra will precede Houston’s talk. The talk will be following by a meet-and-greet with Houston.
